Traditional competition meets global celebration
As part of the World Cup celebrations, we will host a traditional Stickgame tournament – bringing together community, culture and friendly competition. Historically used for everything from entertainment to trade to conflict resolution, stickgames are a vital piece of Coast Salish tradition. Accompanied by singing and drumming, stickgames embody the joy, strategy and resilience that have united Coast Salish people for generations.
During the World Cup, the Puyallup Tribe will host a multi-day Stickgame Tournament, welcoming teams and spectators to experience this powerful cultural tradition.
